Seals “Low Note” Hilton: 1925-2011

In addition to the loss of Harold Lane, Southern Gospel lost another legend last week:  Seals “Low Note” Hilton passed away at the age of 86.  Hilton sang for several years with the Harmoneers and Plainsmen quartets.  I’ve got an old 45 of the Harmoneers with him singing bass, and Low Note was a fine vocalist and deserving of his nickname.  The Singing News has a story here, and you can also read an obituary here.  Condolences to the Hilton family in their time of loss.

I am a great niece of Seals Low Note Hilton I just wanted to say Uncle seals is above us all just singing and doing what he always has done. Sing for those angels. I am proud to have known him and just today realized how well known he really was. Its truely amazing.
