March Madness 2011

Now that the field has been set, are you looking forward to this year’s NCAA Tourney?  Is your team among the 68?  My alma mater, the University of Memphis Tigers, are the 12 seed in the West region and will take on Arizona on Friday.  My childhood team, the West Virginia Mountaineers are the 5 seed in the East, and they will take on the winner of the Clemson/UAB play-in game.

It’s been fun watching the SG folks I follow on Twitter cheer on their respective teams.  Sorry, Kentucky fans, but I’m still a little bitter about your coach trying to decimate our program on his way out.  I hope you lose.  🙂

Tough draw for Memphis, but the Tigers have been on a roll. More optimistic for WVU’s chances. They’ll be tough to beat.

If Memphis plays like they did against ECU and UTEP (or at least the last 5-7 minutes of the UTEP game), I think we can beat ‘Zona. If the team that lost to Rice shows up, they may have to add more placeholders on AZ’s side of the scoreboard.

WVU is a tough call. I’ve seen them look great this year, and I’ve seen them look pathetic. A lot of it depends on if their shots are falling and if Kilicli can stay out of foul trouble. Jones can’t disappear and Mitchell needs to catch fire. Looking forward to the madness!!!!

Well UT Vols have canned their coach Bruce Pearl for NCAA violations and much more. Need we here in East TN say more!

Have something to say?
