New Recordings From Gold City, Working With Goss?

According to this comment over on Daniel’s blog, Gold City will begin work soon on two new recordings.  One will be the long awaited tribute to Doug Riley, and the other a studio album that will have the group working with producer extraordinaire, Lari Goss.  This would be a major step in the right direction for the group, so I’m waiting with baited breath to see what comes of it.

Have they ever worked with Lari before? I can’t seem to recall any projects with him working on it.

  2. Kyle says:

They have worked with Lari in the past. He did a lot of arranging on “Pillars of Faith.”

THAT’s the one… I knew there was at least one I thought he had worked on but wasn’t sure between him and Garry Jones. Now I remember, though… There were a lot of similarities between the bigger songs on “Pillars Of Faith” and The Cathedrals’ “Symphony Of Praise.”

Lari also did the orchestrations on the 1985 project “Sing With The Angels”.

Still would love to see them team w/ Garry Jones. I also hope Daniel produces the tribute CD…he’s an excellent producer. This seems to be a step away from the more country sound they started back with Heaven…notice that the little guitar part isn’t in the new clip of GC singing “I Cast My Bread…” Maybe they’ve always had that left out when the band wasn’t on the road. I can’t say.
