Wedding Music

Sorry, this time I’m not referring to The Cathedrals hit.  My wife’s cousin is getting married in a few weeks and I’ve been asked to sing “I’ll Be” by Edwin McCain.  It will be different from anything I’ve ever sung but I think it will be fun.  A cousin of mine got married several months ago and asked me to sing the Elvis classic “I Can’t Help Falling in Love With You.”  When I got married I sang Steven Curtis Chapman’s “I Will Be Here” to my bride, which was probably the hardest thing I’ve ever had to get through to be honest.  What are some songs you have sung or had sung at your wedding?  Ever heard a song you wish you used at yours or are planning to use?  Ever heard a song you thought was really out of place at a wedding?

I sang “I Cherish The Treasure” to my wife in our wedding. We also had a trio sing “Seekers of Your Heart,” a song that Sandy Patty, Steve Green, and Larnelle Harris used to sing. And we had a soloist sing a George Strait song, “I Cross My Heart.”

I wrote a song specifically for my wife for our wedding. I guess it wasn’t all that great, because we’ve since divorced. HAHAHA!!!

I highly recommend “If you could see what I see” by Geoff Moore and the Distance and “Faithful Friend” by Steven Curtis Chapman/Twila Paris.

One song that I always thought would make a neat wedding song is “Whenever I Think of You I Thank My God” from the GVB’s “Testify” CD.

Kyle, I always thought that was a perfect wedding song too but wasn’t able to get a track or the sheet music for it.

I wrote a song for my dad titled “Little Girl” and sang it before he gave me away. Then I sang “Can’t Live A Day Without You” by Avalon to my DH. He sang “I Cross My Heart” to me. We had 12 songs in the wedding – I know LONG WEDDING! lol! Those and “From This Moment On” were the ‘highlights’ of the wedding. Others were played on the piano or with violin or sung as preludes.

THe new song that I wish was out for my wedding is the Isaacs “Barbie Bandaid”. FABULOUS wedding song!!!!!!!

How could you do that to your Dad?? I bet he was a mess, I know I would be.
I agree, Barbie Bandaids is a great song. My wife can’t listen to it without crying.

Well, we have the pictures to prove that Dad didn’t handle it well! He was BAWLING!!!!!!!!!! lol!!!
