GVB Reunion

Wes Hampton has updated his blog with the news that the GVB will be doing a reunion taping over two days in July.  Brandon at Coomer Cove gives his guess as to what the two days would entail here.  To me, this is one of those “wait in line on the release date” projects.  I’m salivating over the potential of hearing Larnelle, Jon, Gary and Bill again, or Steve, Jon, Gary, and Bill.  Or how about Jim, Mike, Mark, and Bill….or Terry, Mike, Mark and Bill, or……well, you get the idea (and maybe it’s just the chicken chalupa from Taco Bell that’s making me salivate, too…).  This ratchets into the top spot of the most anticipated recordings of the year.  Now if we can just get Gold City and the Imperials to do the same thing, although right now good luck on the last one.

One Response to GVB Reunion

Wow a GVB Reunion! That’s going to be great. Aside from the obvious Franklin/English combination, I’m looking forward to hearing the Jonathan Pierce/Buddy Mullins lineup personally. This was one of the more short lived and definitely not the highest but they had a nice full and soulful sound. Somebody Testify!!
