Pat Barker Named Bass For Mark Trammell Quartet

Mark Trammell has announced that Pat Barker, formerly with the Dixie Echoes, is the bass singer that will be added to form the Mark Trammell Quartet.  Barker is one of the best young basses in SG, and will be quite the addition to Mark’s group.  Pat’s first date will be around Feb. 1.  Congratulations to the Mark Trammell Quartet and to Pat Barker!

Mark Trammell Trio Becoming Mark Trammell Quartet

In a move that shouldn’t come as a huge surprise to anyone, the Mark Trammell Trio is adding a bass singer and becoming the Mark Trammell Quartet.  The entire press release is here, but here’s the money quote from Mark:

“I guess George Younce was right: I am, and always have been, a quartet man at heart. We are excited about the days ahead and being able to deliver our brand of traditional four part harmony to those who have been such a great encouragement.”

The identity of the bass singer for the group has not yet been revealed, but is promised in the next few weeks.

New Tenor For Mark Trammell Trio

Via Daniel Mount, the Mark Trammell Trio has announced Joel Wood as their new tenor singer.  Joel previously sang with the Daybreak Quartet.  I’m not familiar with him, so I will be very interested to hear what Joel brings to the table, so to speak.  Listening to the clips on the Daybreak website, I’d have to agree with Daniel that he sounds similar to Keith Waggoner, he has really nice quality in his voice.  Congratulations to Joel and to the Mark Trammell Trio.

Eric Phillips Departs Mark Trammell Trio

According to the Singing News site, Eric Phillips is leaving the Mark Trammell Trio in mid to late summer to return to his law enforcement career.  Phillips had been with Mark since his trio’s inception 7 years ago.  Best wishes to all involved as the transition period begins.
