Pat Barker Named Bass For Mark Trammell Quartet

Mark Trammell has announced that Pat Barker, formerly with the Dixie Echoes, is the bass singer that will be added to form the Mark Trammell Quartet.  Barker is one of the best young basses in SG, and will be quite the addition to Mark’s group.  Pat’s first date will be around Feb. 1.  Congratulations to the Mark Trammell Quartet and to Pat Barker!

Daniel Riley On Gold City’s Immediate Plans

Amid all the hubbub surrounding Gold City recently, I took the time to talk with Daniel Riley about the group’s immediate plans.

WB: Is your tribute CD to Doug still going to contain some “new” tracks that were never recorded before?
DR: The CD will have 2 songs that were never recorded.

WB: What time frame are you expecting the release?
DR: We hope to have it out by late March/early April.

WB: Do you still have plans for a Volume 2?
DR: There is no solid plan for a volume 2, but it’s possible.

WB: I have seen a comment that indicated Gold City was working on a recording with Lari Goss.  Can you confirm this?
DR: As far as working with Lari Goss, we have no commitment from any producer yet.  We have, however been talking to several.

Thanks to Daniel Riley for taking the time to provide some more information and clarification on what’s currently going on with the new Gold City.  Be looking for these guys in concert sometime soon!  As an aside, they have also added some videos to their youtube channel as well.  You can find the videos linked on Daniel Mount’s blog here.
