One Of Gospel Music’s Darkest Days – Revisited

In his regular monthly column over at SGN, Daryl Williams reveals some details behind the controversy surrounding the 1971 Dove Awards, and has put forth the position that said awards be reinstated.  The article is an absolutely fascinating read, and no matter if you agree or disagree with Williams’ position, it is well worth the time to read the article.  My personal opinion is the status of the Blackwoods’ awards should be up to the surviving family members, since it was James’ decision to return them, but I absolutely agree that the non-Blackwoods winners should have their awards reinstated.
