Christmas Music On The Radio

We have a station here in Memphis that plays continuous Christmas music during the Christmas season. They started their all Christmas music format last week. Really? A little early don’t you think? I love Christmas music too, but a month and a half worth will get old. Granted they play everything from Clay Aiken to Alabama to Andy Williams to The Beach Boys and everything in between, but still. Do any of you readers have radio stations that do the same thing (an all Christmas music format)? Have they started it yet?
We had a station here in Cleveland that did that, but i think they are waiting till Thanksgiving to start now. I like Christmas music a lot, so i thought it was cool, whenever you;re in the mood for it, just tune in and listen to it.
David, that’s the way I think they should do it. I would start the Monday of Thanksgiving week at the earliest, and preferably not until Thanksgiving Day. I just think the first of November is a tad bit early.
We have the same up here in Philadelphia. One station started playing all Christmas all the time November 1st. So in response another station is taking a survey from listeners as to when they should start playing. I voted for the day after Thanksgiving.
There’s a station in here in St. Louis that has been all Christmas since October 1st. If it makes you feel any better, we have our tree up!
You should live in the UK – we get our easter egg displays up in late December here
