Gold City and E-Tracks

Gold City is now offering soundtracks for electronic download (thanks, DJM). Their stated intention is to focus on tracks that are now out of print and otherwise unanvailable. I think this is a great thing, and definitely nice to see, but one thing strikes me as odd. Gold City doesn’t offer downloads of their music yet, just soundtracks. It seems strange that they would choose to introduce digital media with soundtracks. Granted, there are license issues and ownership issues of their music, but it still seems a bit odd. I hope that they do the same thing with their music, even if it would initially just be their table projects. I’d love to see them offer projects like Having Fun, the Hymns projects with Free, Parker, and Lacey and the Chartbusters projects with Free, Parker, and Lefevre as digital downloads. So all in all, great move Gold City, but let’s get some real GC music out there for download as well.
